Accreditation Procedure at the Institutional Level

Throughout institutional accreditation a higher education institution, a branch, a faculty is viewed as an entity. The aim of institutional accreditation is to evaluate whether a higher education institutions fulfills the set of standards.

The institutional accreditation is intended to clarify in what way the functioning of different mechanisms of a higher education institution quality management system encompasses the activity of the higher education institution as a whole. The similar evaluation is conducted also in those cases when reviewers consider that any aspect of a higher education institution quality management system is in need of careful attention.

The range of spheres which are assessed during the institutional accreditation is defined and approved during the preliminary visit to a higher education institution.

The data for analysis is gathered during the «site visit». The reviewers define the compliance of the real state of affairs in a higher education institution and the self-assessment report.

In the final report the reviewers evaluate how the higher education institution’s activity coincide with national education standards, the self-assessment report, submitted papers and give recommendations for improvement.

The task of reviewers is to assure that a higher education institution meets a high standard of quality.
