A NEW ISSUE OF THE MAGAZINE “EDUCATION QUALITY” № 2 HAS BEEN RELEASED
The main topics of the new issue are the activities of international organizations in the field of quality assessment, the transition to indefinite state accreditation, the results of the 5-100 project and the start of the “Priority-2030” program.

The modern educational system is characterized by high rates of development and variability; thus, universities need to show adaptability and a high level of flexibility in an age of uncertainty. Tatiana Bairampas, editor of the journal Education Quality, points out that educational systems in most countries have managed to “demonstrate high flexibility and resilience against the backdrop of the crisis”. More than one year since the pandemic has begun, it’s time to study and analyze the lessons learned and align strategies for the future. This and other topics are raised in the new issue of the journal.

In the section “Key Interview”, readers can learn about the activities of international organizations in the field of quality assurance from the interview with the director of the Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education and Career Development “AKKORK” Erika Soboleva. Erika told about the updated rules for accreditation agencies of the European Association of Quality Assurance Agencies ENQA, as well as the European register EQAR. In addition, the director of AKKORK explained the importance of quality assurance agencies’ registration in EQAR for the Russian universities.

The editors of the Quality of Education spoke with the Strategic Policy Adviser of the Department of Professional and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science of Ireland Orla Lynch about how the quality assurance bodies of education and universities in Ireland have adapted to work during the pandemic, and what determines the future development of the national educational system. Orla Lynch explained the main features of the Irish system of quality assurance in higher education and how a peer review is carried out. In addition, the interviewee talked about the impact of COVID-19 on higher education in Ireland and the transition of the QQI agency to online mode.

On March 1, 2022, amendments to the Federal Law "On Education in the Russian Federation" will come into force, as a result Russian universities will be able to get indefinite accreditation. The editorial board of the magazine learned the opinions of the leaders of the educational system of the Russian Federation: Maxim Ponomarev, Dean of the Faculty of Management of the Russian University of Economics. G.V. Plekhanova, Irina Kostyleva, Counselor at the Rector's Office of the Samara State Technical University, Natalya Ermishina, Deputy Director for Academic Affairs of the Institute of Economics and Law of Petrozavodsk State University (PetrSU) and Marina Danilova, Head of the Educational and Methodological Department of PetrSU, on the prospects and risks of introducing new rules within the framework of the online round table. These opinions are highlighted in the section “State Policy”.
Regarding the launch of the program “Priority-2030”, which is aimed at increasing the contributions of Russian universities to the achievement of national goals, the editorial staff prepared a material that highlights the features of its implementation and the criteria for selecting universities for participation.
In the “Export of Education” section, readers can read about the results of the QS International Survey “Supporting Recovery and Stimulating Growth in Global Higher Education”. In addition, the issue highlights the rating of the best educational organizations in Russia-2021 and the best universities in international ratings.
